[Ignoring all warning signs surrounding the chair, Ryuji stomps right up to the chair and nods over his shoulder back to Penny. This is what happens when you tell a kid like Ryuji to not do something... he's much more inclined to do the opposite of that.
So, he spins on his heel and plants his bum firmly into the chair and...]

[Not only is it the slimiest thing ever, but he starts... sinking into it?]
[ woah! penny might be curious, but this boy sure seems like a rebel to disobey a sign. she watches him attentively, just in cast the chair explodes or something.
she reaches for him, but it appears it's too late. he's already sitting, and... shrinking? ]
[This is unexpected. Completely unexpected and not according to his plan at all. He tries to grab onto something – ah, the walls of the pumpkin! – to stop himself, but his fingers just slip and pulls some of the pumpkin guts with them, and it lands right into his hair.]
I – I'm alright. I think.
[He sinks further in and he's starting to panic now. But HE'S TOTALLY COOL!]
[A guy isn't going to just outright ask a cute girl for help!!! So when she doesn't do anything to help, Ryuji just laughs. It's nervous and high pitched and very, very unsure of himself.]
Y-Yeahhh...! I'm good, see?
[He tries to get up from the chair but his hands on its edges break the arms and sink into the seat as well.]
Shit!
[He scrambles, and it's the slurping noise that it starts to make that really frightens him.]
I can't just ask a girl to help me out but I'm pretty sure I'm drownin' or something!
[ well that just seems silly. if someone needs help, they should ask for it regardless of who's there to offer! the situation seems rough enough for her sensors to kick in, so she isn't about to just stand idle any longer. ]
Sure you can! I'm going to help you right now - just hold on!
[ she leaps up in a way that seems much too strong and high for a human, landing on her hands with a flip upright just as some of the chair disintegrates under her. she carefully but quickly walks along the edges of the chair before grabbing ryuji's arm with a strong grip. ]
Here we go!
[ she pulls him out the pumpkin guck and into a bridal-style carry, landing on the ground without any sort of resistance or falter. ]
[It all happens faster than Ryuji's brain to fully comprehend. First, he's sinking into a pumpkin chair, and the next, he's being carried in a girl's arms and landing on the ground with so much ease that it's kind of terrifying. He yells the entire way through it all and when they land, he remains in her arms, staring at her bewildered.]
What the eff just happened?
[His voice is breathless and confused and when Ryuji glances around, many of the people inside the pumpkin with them are staring.]
[ penny doesn't miss a beat, despite all of the yelling! it might be natural for someone who isn't used to it, but getting this boy onto solid ground is what's more important to her. once they've landed, she smiles down at him. ]
I saved you from being eaten by that chair! It was a very close call.
[ she glances around and notices that people are staring, which makes her a bit nervous... a lot nervous, actually. it'd be better to make a getaway before people start asking questions. ]
We should leave. [ and without waiting for a response, she dashes out of the pumpkin while still holding him. nyoom!! ]
[He's cut off immediately when they exit the pumpkin, yelping again at the sudden movement, and once they're outside, he wobbles a bit but making no effort to be let down.]
Look, I know I ain't all that heavy or somethin' but you aren't exactly the buffest girl I've seen.

[ it technically isn't lying, so no hiccups come. she's a combat android - feats of strength and strategy are what she was made for. picking up a lanky person is like barely lifting a finger for her. ]

Ryuji rubs the back of his head with his free hand, the other still wrapped around the back of her neck.]
